Real Food Read it later

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabaratuhu

Our beloved Prophet ( PBUH) states in a Hadith-“there are two blessing in which most people are in great loss good health and free time.”

I always wonder how many of us have had or have good health and all the time to invest in a way to have a life that is easy to live. Allah swt has given us health and time for a purpose like everything else in this duniya has been created for a purpose. Our purpose of life is to worship Allah the way HE is meant to be worshiped. Worship Allah with a sound mind, body and soul and
to have all these elements which makes us as a whole needs to be nourished in the correct manner to make the most out of our life which is temporary and make the best investment for our eternal life.

In A Nutshell, Real Food Is Made With Simple Ingredients That Are As Close To Nature As Possible And Not Processed In A Way That Removes Nutrients.

On the other hand how many hours of our lives we waste merely doing things that are not beneficial for our mind, body and soul. Wasting time is like wasting one big blessing from our life. A lot of times we realize a value of something when we have lost them by then, then no matter how much regret we have, they will never come back. Every second that passes by will never come back, and with passage of each day, we go a step closer to death; that is why we should put all this time into good use that will benefit our body, mind and soul in order to benefit the world around us for the sake of ALLAH.

The health of our physical body is vital to our entire well being. If we successfully fuel our body in the proper manner, the manner it was created for, it will lead to an easier maintenance of our mind and soul to a life that is happy, healthy and full of contentment.

Number one way to keep our physical body to its optimal potential is through nutrition. If there is one idea I want you to take away from this read, it is that Nutrition is important. Not only nutrition helps a human brain and body develop to its optimal potential but it enables a human to live a healthy life which can help to maximize his energy, and minimize his illness.

You are what you eat and if we can take this concept to make simple dietary adjustments then we can easily live a happier, healthier and generally easier life. Lets not forget: A true believer should have these characteristics of happy, healthy and content.

The first step to a healthier, happier and easier life is to have a well balanced real food diet. Let’s define real food.

What Is Real Food?

Real food is as close to its source as possible and grown and raised in conditions that maximize nutrient density like fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables which you can eat shortly after harvest. I always prefer fruits and vegetables without the use of pesticides as this way the food will be way more nutritious.

Real food is food that is minimally processed meaning it will look just like how you would find it in nature. Cows are naturally meant to graze on grass and their milk naturally contains fat. If you want to look at cows milk from a real food perspective, full fat dairy from grass fed cows is nutritionally superior to low fat dairy from cows that are fed grains and raised in confinement.

Real food often doesn’t have a label like fresh fruit or vegetable or meat but when it does it is made with simple ingredients and no additives. Some purists would argue that real foods don’t have labels but in this busy modern world you are probably going to be buying a fair amount of food with labels and that’s okay. When buying packaged foods, always check the ingredients. If it contains a list of chemicals it is NOT real food.

Lastly, before I close today’s chapter, I would like you to delve into your own diet and find out how much you are feeding your body with just food and how much are you really fueling your body with real food. So that next time when I explain the importance of real food in your diet you can better start making the choices and start building the habits you need for a stronger, happier and uplifted body, mind and soul.
