Sausan Khan Moyeen, CEO and Founder, Enchanted Events Read it later

Sausan Khan Moyeen was born and brought up in Dhaka. She studied at Scholastica. After that, she studied architecture and graduated from North South University. While studying at NSU, she got married, and now by the grace of Allah she is a mother of two children — Zaynab and Zoheb.

Mrs. Sausan started doing hijab after her marriage. Before that she was fashionable. “I was totally into fashion before my marriage. But my mother-in-law and sister-in-law were the biggest inspiration to do hijab and want to follow my religion. They are always there when it comes to supporting whether for my children, religion, or work. They mean a lot for me.”

Working in such a competitive, contrary to many people’s perspective, hijab was never a negative factor in her career. “I got so much respect for my attire, my hijab!” Every step she took for the sake of Allah brought nothing but positivity towards life. “I have chosen hijab by myself. And I never find it antithetical to my career or my lifestyle.”

Art is another of her lifestyle statement. Sense of creativity and deep passion for artistry led her to launch “Enchanted”, her own event management company. Enchanted is a reflection of her choosiness and taste. When it comes to working, Sausan Khan is very demanding. She tries to avoid corporate events as they open up more possibilities to interact with men. Weddings and family parties are most preferable for her to attend. “I prefer to choose weddings or family parties since I hardly have to interact with men for these events. Women are more conscious about décor so it is obvious that aunties or brides come to me for the discussions. Even if men come, they bring their fiancés or wives along with them. So keeping these things in my mind, work becomes a lot easier.”

“Enchanted” is different because she always takes up selected work projects. She tries to put honest effort into every event as if it’s her last work in the world. “I try to consider every selected event in such a way that if I died that day, I can die with pride and be satisfied with my work.” Her husband is very supportive in every step towards her career. He gives her the space of comfort that a woman badly needs from her life partner when it comes to a career.

“I always think that I will obviously do something that I can continue after giving time to my family. If I can reserve enough time for my family, then I decide to do the work. Because my family and kids are my first priority.” So nothing but family comes first to her.

Sausan Khan started her event management business from zero, without any investment! And despite being very picky, she has been able to do above 500 events by herself. “After ten years I want to remain just like this — choosy and selective! Because I do my work for my inner contentment, not for commercial purposes. And my work speaks for me.”

She shared some ecstatic feelings and instances of her life. “This year was the best year of my life. I achieved one of the most cherished goals of my life — the Hajj! My husband and I didn’t want to go on a world tour or any fancy country. We wanted to go for Hajj first. And Alhamdulillah we did it this year.” She thinks that the more one moves ahead on Allah’s path, the more one progresses. “I thought I won’t be able to work that much after my Hajj. But this year is the most successful season of my entire career!”

Her advice for the fresh entrepreneurs is: “You have to love what you do. You have to respect what you do.”

Being blessed with a creative mind, Sausan Khan is a humble-hearted person as well. She has respect for her work and her team. “You shouldn’t feel any work small or disrespectful. In my line of work sometimes I have to carry a sofa, pick up things from the floor or even sweep the stage. Each and every person’s work of my team is equally important to me. Because if one of them is not there, I have to do that work by myself. That’s why you have to love and respect what you do. By doing your work with respect and love, followed by hard work, piety, and having faith in Allah; you can be successful.”

Sharing such precious words and perspective, Sausan Khan Moyeen has sketched an outline of a modest successful woman on our canvas.
